Dentures replace missing teeth with a removable appliance. A partial denture fills gaps where you still have some natural teeth; a full denture replaces a whole arch. They are the most affordable way to replace several teeth and usually take four to five appointments over a few weeks. Known locally as gigi palsu.

What happens, step by step
Assessment
We check the remaining teeth and gums, and treat any decay or gum disease first. A denture built onto an unhealthy mouth will not last.
Impressions
Moulds of your upper and lower jaws.
Bite registration
We record how your jaws meet, so the new teeth sit at the right height.
Try-in
A wax version is tried in so you can see the shape, size and colour and ask for changes before it is finished.
Fitting
The finished denture is fitted and adjusted.
Review and adjustment
Sore spots are normal in the first weeks and are adjusted at review visits. These are included.
Before any treatment

Aftercare
- Expect two to four weeks of adjustment. Speech and eating feel odd at first and then stop feeling odd.
- Start with soft food cut small, chewing on both sides.
- Clean the denture over a basin of water — dropping it on a hard sink is the most common way they break.
- Leave them out overnight in water so the gums can recover.
- Come back for sore spots rather than adjusting the denture yourself.
- Gums change shape over years, so dentures need relining or replacing periodically.
Common questions
How much do dentures cost in Malaysia?
Indicatively RM 400–1,200 for an acrylic partial denture here, and RM 1,500–3,000 for a full denture. The range depends on the number of teeth and the material. Confirmed after examination.
How long do they take to make?
Usually four to five visits over three to six weeks, because the laboratory work happens between appointments.
Will they look artificial?
Tooth shape, size and shade are chosen with you, and you see a wax try-in before it is finished. That try-in is the stage to speak up — changes are straightforward then and expensive afterwards.
Are dentures better than an implant or a bridge?
Different, not better. Dentures cost less and require no surgery but are removable and less stable. Implants and bridges are fixed and feel more natural but cost considerably more. We will give you the figures for each and let you weigh it up.
Will I be able to eat normally?
Most people manage most foods after an adjustment period, though very hard or sticky food stays difficult with a full upper denture.
